Twiddeo - Twitter + Video!!

Posted by Simbu On 1:32 AM View Comments

What if instead of TELLING people what you are doing, you could SHOW them? Now, it is possible with Twiddeo. Twiddeo allows users to upload - via web or mobile (email) - videos and aggregate those videos into Twitter, the same way a standard Twitter update happens.

Twiddeo is a mash-up between Twitter API and vSocial's Social Media API. To use the Twiddeo service users authenticate with their Twitter username and password to enable web uploads and to generate a unique email address to send videos from their mobile device. It also allows users to directly record the video using their web cam.

The users can view the videos in Twitter site itself by using Twiddeo Greasemonkey script in Firefox. Twiddeo also displays the recent public videos uploaded by the users. Twiddeo allows users to continue using Twitter as the aggregator it has become — no need to be tied into a website or a standalone application — while enabling video as a service within Twitter. This lets users start sending and viewing video tweets within minutes.

Developers cultivate patience, because the Twiddeo API will be made available to the public eye soon.

Drilldown :
  • Public timeline shows the videos added to Twitter from Twiddeo
  • No separate login required. Twitter account is just enough.
  • Upload from your computer, send from your phone or record directly from your webcam.
  • Powered by vSocial Social Media API and vSocial Media Playr

Twitalyzer - Measure your Twitter influence

Posted by Sathis Raj S On 7:34 AM View Comments

Ever felt the need to measure your influence on the social networking startup of the century?! (Ahem! Ahem! I mean Twitter!) Almost everyone has the urge to measure their influence on Twitter. Twitalyzer gives you the answer to the aforementioned difficult question.
Twitalyzer is a unique tool to evaluate the activity of any Twitter user and report on relative influence, signal-to-noise ratio, generosity, velocity, clout, and other useful measures of success in social media.

I used the Twitalyzer for Ashton Kutcher's account! Check it out!

As you see, each account is analyzed on five different categories
  • Influence
  • Signal
  • Generosity
  • Velocity
  • Clout

How is influence measured?
  • Your relative reach in Twitter, measured by the number of followers you have
  • Your relative authority, measured by the number of times you are "retweeted"
  • Your relative generosity, measured by the number of times you "retweet" others
  • Your relative clout, measured by the number of times you are referenced by others
  • Your relative velocity, measured by the number of updates you publish over a seven day period

How is Signal to Noise ratio measured?
  • References to other people (defined by the use of "@" followed by text)
  • Links to URLs you can visit (defined by the use of "http://" followed by text)
  • Hashtags you can explore and participate with (defined by the use of "#" followed by text)
  • Retweets of other people, passing along information (defined by the use of "rt", "r/t/", "retweet" or "via")
How is Generosity measured?

Generosity is ones ability to retweet thus creating awareness and idea among your followers. Generosity is measured on the basis of the ratio of retweets you pass along to all updates you publish.
How is Velocity measured?

Velocity, as the original term means simply the rate at which you are contributing your posts on Twitter.
How is Clout measured?

Clout is the likelihood that other people will reference you in Twitter. The more people who reference you, the higher the clout.

Other Features:
  • Provides an add-on for Firefox.
  • Integration of Google analytics with Twitter providing Twitter Analytics.
Twitalyzer is an amazing tool if you are a Twitter fan! Use Twitalyzer and find out your own influence on Twitter.

Twitsnip - An all purpose bookmarklet

Posted by Sathis Raj S On 4:31 AM View Comments

From the brilliant minds of Twitter Grader, comes another all purpose trendy tool - Twitsnip. Consider a position where you want to quote an article from a website and tweet it but you find it boring and difficult to cut and paste, Twitsnip does it for you. The most important feature is that Twitsnip finds out the author of the particular website and tweets it along with your quoted tweet. A link is also established back to the website. A URL shortening tool is also available. It also tries to shorten the length of the tweet using a vocabulary (twitabulary!?!?) of short words. Twitsnip works in Firefox, Internet Explorer and Chrome.

How it works?
  • Find some interesting article you need to quote.
  • Highlight the portion of the text you need to quote.
  • Click the Twitsnip bookmarklet.
  • Review and then post your tweet.
Simple! Ain't it?
Do post comments on your usage of Twitsnip.
