TwitterLit - Tweeting the first lines of books

Posted by Sathis Raj S On 10:40 PM

TwitterLit is a fun application that serves up literary teasers twice daily - at exactly 9.00AM and 9.00PM Eastern Time. The first line of some book is posted without the author's name or book title. A link for the book in Amazon is posted along with the tweet. TwitterLit acts as a guessing game which enables users to guess the name of any book just by checking out the first line of it.

There have been many postive reviews from many news sites regarding TwitterLit :
  • The Guardian Blog calls TwitterLit "an intriguingly random way to discover new reads".
  • New York Magazine calls it "an extremely simple and extremely addictive site".
Three different versions of TwitterLit are available - US, UK and Canada.

Drilldown:
  • Random first line generator for users is available.
  • iPhone application can be downloaded at twitterlit.com/iphone.
  • TwitterLit gadget for Gmail is also available.
  • TwitterLit bookmarklet available.
  • Customizable Twitterlit widgets.
  • Users can suggest a first line in Twitterlit.
TwitterLit is an Amazon affiliate site. The links in the tweets contain TwitterLit's affiliate ID. Sales as a result of clicking links in TwitterLit will profit TwitterLit.
